Who next? (Influential Players)

by Tony Kosten ⌂, France, Saturday, April 03, 2010, 21:16 (5494 days ago)

We have been using tactics and strategical ideas from many of the World's top players over the last couple of years, Topalov, Carlsen, Anand, etc., and I was wondering if there was any particular player that we haven't covered yet who you would like to see, either on the Tactics Gym, or in the Your Move/Strategy stuff, or perhaps both?
Just let me know. :ok:

Smyslov.

I find the articles that are most interesting are the ones that cover a particular theme (for example IQP), rather than a particular player. What about covering the various tactical motifs in separate articles (eg pins, deflection, decoying etc.) in Your Move which tends to concentrate on tactics?

In terms of specific players, I wonder if some of the lesser well known historic figures would make interesting articles (such as Teichmann, Mieses or Schlechter) if enough games are available. (I've been playing through some of Rubinstein's games recently!)

Good idea. I have actually had the good fortune to play against him a couple of times.

A bit like the Novice stuff? OK, I will bear that in mind.
