Training (Problems)

Hi everyone - but this is mostly an idea for the moderator....

I agree with Ian that US$70 per month for 6 months is quite a financial commitment when you don't know exactly what you are going to get for your money. However, from the coaches points of view, asking for some free analyses is also perhaps asking a bit much. How would you feel if 20+ students asked for their 'free' analyses. There's a weeks work there for potentially no financial gain. We all have to earn a living and I don't expect any professional chess player to happily give away his work for free.

The Training Director says that the coaches will be 'operating to a standard set by us', what is that standard? How does the Training Director know that a coach has attained that standard? Who decides which coach is paired up with which student and how do they do this?

It seems reasonable to assume that all the coaches must have analysed games for students before, so how about each coach having a couple of analysed games on the site somewhere? They could be any games that they have copyright permissions for - even their own. They will no doubt already have suitable analyses on file. Perhaps just a note as to the level of player that their analysis was aimed at would be useful.

We, the students, will see in advance what we are getting and know that it will be at the right level for us. The coach will have lost nothing as they will have done no extra work. In fact they may gain more students if their analyses are particularly good.
