HGIYC software!! (General)

? Hi, I dont have any problems with the HGIYC exercises, they are great.
? But there is a large flaw in the software, it uses 100% of my CPU
? processing power (2Ghz P4, which is old now but nothing as simple as this
? program should use more than 10%!!). why would it use all of my PC power
? when all it does is display a chess board? This means that I cant have
? anything running in the background which is really annoying.

It does that on my system too. It hasn't really caused any problems for me, but there are quite a few things lacking in the HGIYC software. The most obvious is that it doesn't remember your preferences next time you load it so you have to reconfigure it from scratch every time.

The high CPU is probably just a junior programming mistake. The program probably has a busy loop awaiting user input instead of sitting idle waiting for events.
