HGIYC program (Problems)

? Can the HGIYC be improved so that it doesn't sit and consume clock cycles

I have contemplated writing my own program as well. I even have a java program that plays through pgn files, which I wrote some time ago to use as a starting point. I'd do it more like the tactical exercises - a series of guess the move pages, interspersed with explanatory text - and possibly variations you can play through on the board.
