WindowsXP will open a zip archive just like any other folder, so you shouldn't need WinZip at all. If you feel more comfortable with WinZip though, there is a free 'evaluation' version you can download instead of the one you have to purchase.

I can open chessbase without WinZip. I downloaded the latest "your move".
What program do I open that with? Chessbase isn't on the menu of programs. Should it be? Am I making sense?

The Your Move files should be in CBV form (archived ChessBase), so you can just open Chessbase, and then click 'Open' from the 'File' menu, then find the Your Move file. Normally CBV should be associated with ChessBase, but it is possible that another program 'got their first'. :-)

I think almost every program has 'File' written at the top left of the window on the menu. In the case of ChessBase 9 there is also 'Edit', 'View', 'Tools' etc. However, I had a look at ChessBase light, and this is different, as the first item is 'Database'.
So, you simply click on 'Database', then 'Open', then you have to browse to where you downloaded the .CBV file (if you save to the CBLIGHT folder this will be easier!), and then you simply click on the *.cbv file and then click on 'OK' and the database will open. With the full version, or with Fritz the text file will open immediately, but with CB Light you may have to double-click on this. You can also permanently add these databases to your CB Light window by using 'Database' then 'Add to Window', and there are extensive Help files ('Help').
