Mihaela opening corner (Openings)

Excellent idea we were missing an opening section that is sufficiently informative but not overwhelming.Good explanation of the ideas and some new move to make it surprising ,possibly, for the opponent.
Improving your chess means to win more games right !:-)
I hope is going to continue the same way exploring different openings.

Hi Giorgio!
I am glad you liked my work - I was waiting for some feedback before deciding what new material I would do.

Thanks Mihaela
as I said the format is excellent not too much not too little.
I personally play e4 and I am searching for some good systems against the French and the Pirc.
I am fairly aggressive in the opening not to the point of sacrificing material but I want to keep the initiative and possibly an advantage.
Of course has to be of benefit to all of us but I am sure that there are other e4 players in our group who will find the above useful. Chesspublishing is excellent but at times overwhelming and often too time consuming for an amateur like me.

Hi Giorgio!
I play 1.e4 too and so I'll try to create some new material for White in these lines.

I'm learning the Pirc so do remember the black side if you offer something for white!

This area that I looked at for the first time today is really useful and well presented

It's also very handy that these annotated games are available in pgn as I typically visit this site on my mac...the pgn loads neatly into my sigma engine.:-)
Thanks

We will be developing this area in the future, but were waiting for some critical feedback before deciding whether to commision any more of the repertoire articles. :-)

I'll be taking a good look over the next few days and will post my comments. Off the top of my head I would ask for a few nuggets for the under ECF120 player (I'm actually under 100 but you have to have ambition)...but then I would argue for that because that's me...maybe there are some others of a similar level on here?

Have just had a quick look through the smerdon-sachdev Tromp game. I'm aiming to learn the Tromp as part of my repertoire. Two things I found immediately useful

1) Handy for me it's in pgn...would love more stuff to be available this way.

2) The plain language notes were great. As I'm not yet at the level where I can follow notation in my head (without setting it up on a board) these explanations of the ideas - rather than notated variations - are ideal. They make it more accessible, so it becomes something I can take a quick look at without organising a longer study session.

Do keep them coming.

I have almost all the instructive material in PGN which we could put online as a download if there is sufficient interest. ;-)

Yes Tony
there is interest ! Sorry I did not follow the forum recently.
I have played in a week end tournament and I played W against the French and I have used the pawn sacrifice advised by Andy since I like positions with e5 pawn Bd3 and possible attack on the K side.
Please carry on even if we played differently these are surprise weapons that specially here in UK in the regional chess league where you often play the same people year after year are very useful.
Also do you want us to send you our plans in the unlock your genius section ?
I think would be useful. Please let us know.

No, not this time, thanks, but if you want to post your ideas here maybe we can discuss them?!
