Solutions library mixed up (Problems)

by markakeen, Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 16:55 (6624 days ago)

I'm not sure if this is just a problem with the early tactics solutions library, but they seem mixed up or some solutions are even missing.

Example. Intermediate puzzle 48 (March 05). A really interesting position between Larsen, B. and Spassky, B. (1981). Each has only a queen, bishop and pawns. But where is the solution?

Also its not helpful for solutions 45-60 to be labelled 1-15 in the solution explorer...

And lastly the puzzles/solutions are listed 0-15, 15-30, 30-45 and 45-60. This is just confusing, and unfortunately it seems your programmer was confused too. Click on Intermediate Solutions 45-60 (March 05) and select puzzle 15 in the drop-down - it doesn't exist. Which means there are only 14 solutions in a section which had 15 puzzles.

Puzzles should be 1-15, 16-30, 31-45, 46-60 (you can't be both 0 and 1 based at the same time).

I don't want to be too picky because the material is great, its just slighty let down by some fairly simple coding bugs which means the solutions are hard to find or even missing. I worked as a software developer myself so I know how it can happen.
