Board coordinates (General)

by Mahout, Sunday, May 27, 2007, 08:26 (6537 days ago) @ Tony Kosten

Not so much now but when I first joined I would have really appreciated it.

Also, if there is something to help seeing a few moves on in my head just from reading notation this would be good. I know there is the blindfold visual trainer to work with...but if there are any alternate ideas for improving this skill I'd be interested in them too. It's not really possible to explain this without seeming lazy and uncommitted ...but I had a go on the blindfold trainer, found it really hard then didn't go back to it. Don't get me wrong - I do think it's a great tool - and I know that I should really try a bit harder with it:-|

? Does anyone feel they need some help getting used to the board coordinates
? (a-h, and 1-8) that more advanced players take for granted? I was thinking
? about putting some explanatory page up, or maybe even some tests if there
? is a general need for it?
