Obviously, a new member.
The Improve Your Chess sales pitch talks about a program to be followed month by month.
What exactly am I to accomplish each month?
I know there are bonus points for finishing the exwesize in fifteen minutes (fat chance) but is there a time limit or penalties for being slow?

You are smiling - :) -, I am not. I did a as you suggested and Sharon gave an inadequate reply. Their money back offer is none existant.
I would like to do the program but simply put, what is the program? Since the program is only for one year I would like to know what has to be accomplished each month.
What happens if the connection is broken or I must log off during and exercise?
I am beginning to think used car dealers are operating the site. Lots of promises but poor performance.
I understand the difficulty of start-ups but as a minimum we deserve some communications.
Sharon says they only review the Forum once a week. Think of it: You join, ask a question and have to wait a week of a reply. Totally unacceptable since there are few knowledgeable users to chip in and help with the questions.

But we are always willing to look at dissatisfied members with a view to refunds, provided they have a reasonable case.
Yes, it's true we have had teething problems, but we have sorted most of them out and we have been diligent in listening to members and bringing on developments where possible.
I think many people will agree Sharon is outstanding in trying to help people in a courteous and effective manner. But if anyone has a serious complaint about her service they should email for the publisher's attention.

After much difficulty I finally got the answers to my question in an email from the publisher.
I find it amazing that a detailed explaination of what is expected of the student: what is to be accomplished each month etc., is not posted on the web site.

The cost for this site is reasonable so I would not insist too much to be refunded if I am not improving .I would be dissatisfied and I will not renew my subscription.The site is based on some good ideas but it is very static.
You have done your tactics,4 x month,you have done GM King exercise 4 x month,you participate to the competion,you do your strategy once a month it is probably 7-8 hours a month of chess activity.Improvement from this will be slow and limited.Off course you can spend much more and do more with the coaching system the site provides.In such a case I think a well defined level of improvement,elo points,should be guaranteed.

After using the site for a couple of months I am up to speed on what I am supposed to be doing. But it shouldn't have taken that long. The site lacks clarity. A half page of explanation would be enough to point new members in the right direction.
Its much better value than buying a book but don't expect too much.
