Tactics Archive for download? (Problems)

by Fausto Alava-Moreno ⌂, Oviedo, Spain, Monday, May 05, 2008, 22:13 (6190 days ago)

I would like to have the Monthly Tactics archive (workouts) available for download in cbv or pgn formats.

Is that wish possible?

Best regards,

Fausto Alava-Moreno

I took it off as I wasn't sure it was a good idea - I can put it back if someone can explain to me why it would be useful? ;-)

I like the format of Glenn Flear's column as I can print off all the questions/diagrams and look at them away from the computer. There is less of a temptation to sneak a peak at the answers as that would mean turning the computer back on.

My idea was print out the diagrams (and solutions in a diferent paper) to work with it without the computer.

Due to my work, I spent almost two hours per day in public transport and I can use this bus travels thinking on tactics without a computer.

Is that a good reason?

OK, I will put the database back on again, later today. :-)

Tony , I agree with the other people here - we could print off the positions and take them away and work on them.

Sometimes its just more convenient than being in front of a PC, God knows, I stare at one most of the day anyway :-)

Tony, would it be possible to group the tactics archive according to level? I've taken to printing a few questions at a time to keep in my pocket. Depending on my energy level at the time, it would be nice to know in advance what level a particular problem is set at, as the more complex ones may require a chess board. Thanks.

No, I'm afraid it's too late for us to separate them now, sorry.
