So far I am impressed with this site. I joined IYP because I am tired of just playing games. I play in many clubs and am rated in the mid 1700's in all of them. This rating has been constant for the past few years. (been playing for 40+ yrs) and I feel that I need to spend more time studying how to play chess instead of just playing games. My game does not seem to be getting better.
Tactics are good but requires discipline. Your interactive method to this discipline may be just what I need. Can't wait for the next set. After we complete the excercise, shouldn't we be able to keep looking at the excercises to study. It blocks me out. Is that - 'by design' ?
My favorite part of IYP is "How Good Is Your Chess". I run these games many times and always find something new. This seems to be what I have been missing. In a real game there comes a time when there is no killer move to make. So I usually wait for my opponent to make a mistake. If he doesn't I LOSE. This part of your club is really going to help me.
Keep up the great job; CajunDog
